OverviewThe Auger Feed/Blend Control is a microprocessor-based control system which provided for the mixing of three hoppers of plastic pellets. The hopper had three motor-driven volumetric augers. The augers ran for a period of time, each at their own speed, as required to satisfy the volume of a large blend tank. Once the hopper was full, the augers stopped and the blend motor was activated for a predetermined period of time to ensure thorough blending. After blending, an air cylinder was activated to dump the contents into a supply hopper, from which product was taken automatically via a vacuum system to production. |
