Laser Auto Focus System

Capacitive sensing & stepper motor system for real-time laser focal distance tracking — accuracy ±0.0005" @ 1.0"/sec
Laser Auto Focus System

Overview

The Laser Track auto focus system maintains a preset focal distance by tracking the profile of a target object using capacitive sensing.

This microprocessor-based system uses a stepper motor linear actuator integrated into the gas jet / lens assembly of a laser beam delivery system.

The auto-focus assembly is positioned to the proper focal distance via a keypad/display using the jog function. Once a focal distance is established, the system is calibrated to this position using the calibrate function.

The system is then ready to track the profile of the target object in real time.
